Description

Provide Freedom of Information expertise to Leicestershire Police

As Freedom of Information Officer within our Information Management team, you will play a key part in delivering specialist FOI advice to the Force. You will use your experience in UK GDPR, Data Protection & Freedom of Information to help manage reputational risks, researching collating & responding to an array or queries.

What you’ll be doing

  • Guarding against any disclosures being made which would jeopardise ongoing investigations or court proceedings
  • Deciding which information should be released in accordance with relevant legal obligations, Home Office, NPCC and Force policies
  • Responding to complex requests for Information, including Freedom of Information and Data Protection Requests

The must haves

  • Educated to A-Level standard in Maths and English Language (Grade C/4), or experience of working to the equivalent level
  • Hold a BCS Freedom of Information Certificate/equivalent or be prepared to achieve this in the first 12 months.
  • An ability to monitor performance, organise and prioritise workloads, resolve conflict situations and achieve deadlines
