  • About The Role -

    Gardening Team Leader – Estate Services

    We are looking for a Gardening Team Leader to join our Estate Services Team within the Housing & Regeneration Directorate.

    If you are comfortable working on site, have experience leading teams and want to play a key role in maintaining clean, safe and well‑maintained estates, we would like to hear from you.

    This is a role covering multiple locations, suited to someone reliable, organised and able to support and guide a team to deliver a high standard service.

    In this role, you will:

    • Lead and support a team ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
    • Plan and organise daily work across different locations, making sure tasks are completed efficiently.
    • Carry out site visits and inspections to monitor standards and address issues across estates.
    • Support the delivery of work programmes and service schedules ensuring targets are met.
    • Engage with residents and respond to enquiries in a professional and approachable way.
    • Manage day-to-day team matters, including attendance, performance and development.
    • Ensure equipment and vehicles are used safely and maintained properly.

    About You

    We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

    • Experience of leading or supervising a team in gardening, estate services or a similar environment.
    • Experience of working outdoors in a manual or physically demanding role.
    • Knowledge of horticulture and grounds maintenance practices.
    • Awareness of health and safety and safe working practices, including the use of equipment.
    • The ability to plan and organise work and support staff to meet service standards.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work with residents and stakeholders in a professional manner.
    • A reliable and positive approach, with the ability to respond to changing priorities.A full UK Category B driving licence, with confidence driving vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

    A basic DBS check is required for this role.

Salary range

  • £45,282 - £47,394 per year
