Mattersey Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to join our dedicated team.
Mattersey is a unique and special small school, with just two classes. Our size means that we know our children and families exceptionally well, and every member of staff plays an important part in school life. We are looking for someone who will embrace this ethos and enjoy being part of a close-knit team.
The role
The successful candidate will work across the school, supporting teaching and learning and providing additional cover when required. As a two-class school, flexibility is essential. You may be supporting children across different year groups and phases, working alongside class teachers, delivering interventions and activities, and providing planned cover for lessons including core subjects and PPA cover.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a good knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
- Be confident supporting children of different ages, abilities and needs.
- Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond positively to the changing needs of a small school.
- Have experience of working within a primary school environment.
- Be able to work independently while also being a supportive and collaborative member of the team.
- Have high expectations of pupils and a commitment to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
- Be enthusiastic, approachable and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.
- This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and would relish the opportunity to work across a small school where every day can be different.
At Mattersey, we are proud of our welcoming school community and our commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for every child. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to work within a supportive team where your contribution will be valued and where you can make a genuine difference to children's lives.
If you are passionate about primary education, flexible in your approach and excited by the opportunities that working in a small school brings, we would love to hear from you.
Come and be part of the Mattersey Primary School team!
