Job summary
Designing for Justice
The Graphics and EPE Unit is a small team responsible for supporting the SFO’s Operational Divisions and Corporate Services. This includes the production of Graphic bundles consisting of static visuals and animated videos to support the case teams with the presentation of evidence during trial. The team of designers analyse, simplify and restructure complex evidential source material into audience targeted, accessible data visualisations (diagrams, charts and animations).
Team members will support the Head of the Unit with the procurement and management of Electronic Presentation of Evidence (EPE) solutions with 3rd party suppliers. This includes the installation of technology, iPads, software, and Operators for all SFO trials, including video conferencing and real-time transcription services.
The Graphics and EPE Unit also works closely with the Print Room where the team have opportunities to develop printing, scanning and finishing/presentation techniques using a range of latest printing/finishing equipment.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. To be eligible you must meet the following residency requirements dependent of the level of security vetting required:

Job description
As a Graphic Information Designer, you will be responsible for:
- To visually communicate complex and technical information set by senior stakeholders to a non-technical audience. Work closely with the Head of Unit to understand the briefs, to work on effective solutions and present progress reports to the HoU and key stakeholders
- To create a graphics bundle consisting of static diagrams, storyboards and maps; Animated and interactive videos/animation for presentation in court:
- Analyse complex data sources, liaising with case teams to obtain additional relevant source material when required and adapt to changes in requirements
- Visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and design concepts, change and adapt design ideas, simplify and restructure data and designs by applying logical thinking, seeking solutions with the relevant people if necessary
- Proactively seek new ways to enhance presentational solutions
- Attend Case Meetings
- Manage own workload, deadlines and case teams expectation with use of Jira
- Contribute and abide by Best Practice Guidelines and understand the consequences of their decisions
