Would you like to be part of an award-winning multi-disciplinary team managing a wide range of greenspaces?

Do you have skills and experience that you would like to use to maintain and enhance council owned greenspaces across the Borough?

Join our Grounds Maintenance team and help us keep Waverley’s parks, play areas, cemeteries and green spaces safe, clean and welcoming for the whole community. As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you’ll carry out a wide range of practical tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge work, litter picking and general site care, ensuring high standards are consistently met across the borough.

You’ll take pride in the quality of your work, follow set schedules, and use machinery safely and responsibly, reporting any issues or defects as needed. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll contribute to repair and improvement projects and help maintain excellent presentation of our sites, vehicles and equipment. Customer service is key, and you’ll interact professionally with residents, colleagues and visitors while representing the council.

This role is ideal for someone physically fit who enjoys outdoor work in all weather, has demonstrable experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture, and brings a flexible, reliable approach. In return, you’ll be part of an organisation that values collaboration, wellbeing and professionalism, and you’ll have opportunities to learn, develop and make a positive impact on your local environment.
