Join us as a Grounds Maintenance Operative and play a vital role in keeping the districts public spaces clean, green, and welcoming. Your work will directly support the council’s ambitions for safe, attractive neighbourhoods, helping to create a positive environment for residents and visitors alike.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be hands-on with a variety of tasks including grass cutting, litter and graffiti management, leaf clearance, and landscaping. Operating fleet vehicles and power tools, you’ll maintain parks, streets, beaches, and playgrounds to the highest standard. Your role also involves supporting community events, working alongside volunteers, and ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have Level 2 horticulture knowledge or equivalent experience, a full UK driving licence with trailer entitlement (or ability to obtain), and confidence using grounds maintenance equipment. You’re physically fit, reliable, and take pride in your work. You value teamwork, communicate well, and share our commitment to working together with ambition, ownership, and pride to serve the community.

Salary range
- £25,185 - £26,403 per year
