Grounds Team Leader
Make a Difference in Lancaster
Join us as the Grounds Team Leader at Williamson Park, where your expertise will help maintain this cherished green space to the highest standards. You’ll play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports community enjoyment and promotes environmental responsibility. Your work will contribute to making Williamson Park a nationally recognised destination for leisure, events, and celebrations.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead and supervise a dedicated team of grounds maintenance operatives, overseeing tasks such as hedge cutting, mowing, planting, and arboriculture. Managing equipment upkeep, maintaining health and safety records, and working closely with volunteers and the community will be key parts of your role. You’ll also support event setups, ensure the park meets Green Flag Heritage standards, and promote sustainable practices to protect our natural habitats.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
You hold a Level 3 qualification in horticulture or arboriculture and have the necessary accreditations for aerial rescue and chainsaw operations. A full driving licence, including towing trailers up to 7.5 tonnes, is essential. You’re organised, take pride in your work, and thrive both independently and as part of a team. Above all, you share our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership, and are passionate about making a positive impact in the community.
