
Group Finance Manager - Reporting and Control
About the role
As a senior member of the Financial Reporting and Control team, you'll ensure the accuracy, integrity and effectiveness of financial reporting across NHG. You'll lead preparation of Group and subsidiary statutory accounts, coordinate interim and year-end audits, and ensure regulatory returns are delivered accurately and on time. Working closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Control, you'll provide expert technical accounting support, deputise when required, and give senior leaders clear, insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Lead preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries
- Coordinate quarterly, interim and year-end audits, managing the audit timetable with Finance Managers, Heads of Service and auditors
- Ensure regulatory returns and filings are accurate and on time
- Lead monthly intercompany reconciliations
- Conduct quarterly analytical reviews of financial performance
- Support reporting to senior management and committees
- Maintain technical accounting knowledge and monitor housing sector developments
- Strengthen financial reporting, internal controls and audit-issue resolution
- Build strong relationships with Finance colleagues, auditors and stakeholders
- Lead, manage and mentor team members
Essential requirements
- CCAB-qualified accountant with ongoing CPD
- Extensive experience preparing statutory accounts end-to-end, ideally at Group level within social housing
- Significant experience leading interim/year-end audits and coordinating external auditors and internal stakeholders
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and awareness of regulatory/sector developments
- Experience with regulatory financial returns and filings
- Strong knowledge of financial controls and control frameworks
- Proven leadership and team development experience
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder influence
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- High integrity and professionalism
- Strong Excel; Sun Systems, Dynamics 365, Power BI advantageous

Salary range
- £75,488 - £83,875 per year
