This role sits within the Strategy, Performance and Insight team, part of the wider Strategy & Communities department. The team brings together corporate strategy, performance, data and insight to provide a clearer, more forward-looking understanding of how the council is performing and where it needs to improve.
We are seeking a Head of Data, Performance and Insight to lead this work. This is a senior role responsible for shaping how the council uses data and insight to drive performance, support strategic decisions and enable earlier, more proactive intervention.
The role will focus on developing a more integrated approach to data, insight and performance, improving the quality and accessibility of information, and ensuring that performance is understood and actively managed across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role you will:
- Lead the council’s approach to data and performance
- Develop and maintain a clear performance framework
- Ensure data is used to inform decisions and improvement
- Provide performance reporting to senior leadership and members
- Work with services to define measures and track progress
- Build analytical capability across the organisation
- Support the use of data in strategy and change
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience leading data, performance or analytics functions
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience developing performance frameworks
- Experience working with senior stakeholders
- The ability to present data clearly and support decision-making
Additional Information
Grade of G15 is provisional and will be confirmed prior to interviews.
