The Housing Ombudsman Service (HOS) provides independent, impartial and fair dispute support and resolution services for nearly 5 million households in England. Through resolving disputes effectively and promoting positive change across the social housing sector, we improve residents’ lives and landlords’ services.
The Head of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) role sits within the Finance, Procurement and Digital function of the Housing Ombudsman Service which is responsible for delivering our finance, procurement, governance and digital services for the organisation.
As Head of DDaT, you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and will be responsible for the performance of the DDaT team with responsibility for technology, data and information governance, creating and embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and in line with required standards.
Job description
Specifically, your remit will include:
· providing advice to the organisation around data, technology and information governance;
· delivering a modern customer service experience that achieves the required customer and colleague outcomes, underpinned by robust technology, data and information governance;
· providing thought leadership on the topic of data security and advise the SIRO and senior leaders of DDaT issues that require escalation; and
· leading, managing and developing the DDaT team, ensuring service area outcomes are delivered.
Person specification
Core requirements, which ideally will have been gained within the social housing, regulation and / or ombudsman sectors, for this pivotal leadership role include:
· demonstrable experience of delivering successful DDaT services at a senior level;
· proven experience of impactful collaboration at a senior level, both internally and with external stakeholders;
· a track record of developing and embedding service improvements for DDaT; and
· experience of successfully leading at a senior level, managing managers and ensuring staff development across a service area
