Working closely with the Assistant Director of Equity and Partnerships Portfolio Management, you will provide leadership across the portfolio, ensuring investments are effectively managed to deliver both commercial and strategic objectives.

Job description

As part of the management team, you will be responsible for ensuring newly completed investments are effectively integrated into the portfolio and managed throughout their full lifecycle, from completion through to exit. You will also support the development of team capability, promote best practice and help drive continuous improvement across the function.

Strong commercial judgement, financial analysis and risk management skills will be essential to support investment objectives, housing targets and broader strategic outcomes. You will oversee portfolio performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes across a diverse range of investments.

The role also requires effective stewardship and management of key relationships with Investment Partners, including senior executives and Board-level stakeholders. You will have exposure to some of the most senior stakeholders at National Housing Bank as well as Government departments through established governance forums and reporting processes.

Person specification

Resilient and commercially astute, you will be confident engaging with senior executives, Boards and investment partners, influencing outcomes through strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.

You will be comfortable leading financial analysis and resolving complex commercial issues, with a strong understanding of real estate investment, development and financing structures. You will bring sound commercial judgement and experience of managing investment performance, risk and governance throughout the investment lifecycle

You will have strong report-writing skills and be confident reviewing complex legal agreements, including shareholder and partnership agreements. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have a solid understanding of financial models, cashflows and key investment metrics such as ROI, IRR, NPV and income yields.

You will hold a degree-level qualification and/or equivalent professional accreditation or experience, such as surveying, accountancy, law or a related discipline.
