Head of Legal and Monitoring Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced legal professional to lead our Legal Services team on a temporary basis. As Head of Legal Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and improving our legal services while fulfilling the statutory duties of the Monitoring Officer.

You will act as the Council&©s principal legal adviser, providing expert guidance across a range of legal matters and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance. You will provide legal advice to elected members, senior officers, and committees, including attendance at Council and Cabinet meetings and serving as the lead officer for Audit and Standards. You will be a member of the Corporate Management Team.
