Would you like to lead the Council on a wide range of public protection matters? As our new Head of Public Protection, you will lead three teams, focussing on a wide range of statutory responsibilities including, environmental health and licensing, private sector housing, community safety, public realm CCTV, emergency planning and business continuity. You will also take full responsibility for the Council’s corporate approach to health and safety, risk management and insurance, ensuring full up-to-date communications on key national and local developments within these key areas, whilst using your knowledge and learning to deliver service improvements in line with the Authority’s Community Plan.
With demonstrable experience in resource management, in providing direction and strong people management skills, you will have a background and knowledge in Environmental Health and/or Public Protection at a senior level. You will deliver against strategic and operational requirements including service specific projects funded both internally and externally.
You will hold a level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or have significant demonstrable experience in a relevant area along with a full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
