    Summary

    Welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining the People Directorate at Notting Hill Genesis.

This is an exciting time to join NHG. Our People function is evolving to become more confident, proactive and insight‑led, working in close partnership with leaders to build capability, strengthen performance and support the delivery of great outcomes for residents.

People Development sits at the heart of our People Strategy. Our work focuses on building the skills, leadership capability and confidence colleagues need to succeed-now and in the future. We play a central role in shaping NHG's culture, leadership approach and ways of working, supporting a consistent, values‑led colleague experience across the organisation.

The Head of Talent and Performance plays a critical role in this ambition. You will lead the organisation's approach to talent, leadership and performance development, shaping the frameworks, pathways and programmes that build strong leadership pipelines, develop future talent and embed a consistent, values‑aligned performance culture.

What the role is all about

As Head of Talent and Performance, reporting to the People Development Director, you will lead NHG's organisation‑wide talent, leadership and performance development agenda.

You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a coherent, forward‑looking offer that strengthens leadership and management capability, supports internal mobility and succession, and embeds a consistent, values‑aligned performance culture across NHG.

Working as part of the wider People Directorate leadership team, you will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Centres of Expertise and senior leaders across the organisation, providing insight, challenge and leadership that builds organisational capability, confidence and long‑term sustainability.

    How you'll make a difference

You will strengthen organisational performance and capability by:

    • Leading a clear, strategic talent, leadership and performance development agenda aligned to NHG's People Strategy
    • Building strong leadership and management capability that supports confident decision‑making and high‑quality services for residents
    • Developing inclusive talent pipelines, succession plans and high‑potential pathways that support future workforce needs
    • Strengthening early careers, apprenticeships and internal mobility to widen opportunity and build sustainable capability
    • Using workforce insight, talent data and metrics to identify priorities, shape interventions and drive measurable impact

Your impact will be seen through stronger leadership pipelines, improved performance culture, clearer progression pathways and a colleague experience that reflects NHG's values.

    How you'll do it

    • Lead the organisation‑wide talent, leadership and performance development strategy, aligned to the People Strategy and organisational priorities
    • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders on leadership development, management capability, performance culture and talent risk
    • Lead and develop a team of c.3 colleagues, providing clear direction, coaching and strong people leadership
    • Oversee NHG's performance management framework, ensuring consistent application and alignment to values and behavioural expectations
    • Lead NHG's approach to talent management and succession planning, including talent reviews and development follow‑through
    • Oversee early careers and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring quality, inclusivity and effective use of the apprenticeship levy
    • Lead NHG's approach to coaching, mentoring and leadership development programmes
    • Use insight and analytics to inform prioritisation, prevention activity and organisational decision‑making
    • Work collaboratively across HR and with external partners to ensure people development activity is joined‑up, proactive and impact‑focused
