Job description
During your apprenticeship you will work as part of a supportive team with the opportunity to develop and learn about the exciting work across Dstl.
This Apprenticeship will consist of work supporting the Environmental and Sustainability goals of Dstl.
You will be encouraged and supported through the programme to take ownership of your development through Independent Learning to realise your full potential. As a minimum, we will expect you to undertake the NEBOSH Environmental Training course, but there will be opportunity to discuss further training opportunities with your Capability Supervisor, as you progress, develop and grow. Dstl is committed to supporting your learning.

Person specification
We are looking for someone who has a personal interest, aptitude and enthusiasm for environmental sustainability, you will be inquisitive and has the desire to design and improve on what is currently possible.
You will have the ability to prioritise effectively as well as having the ability to work and communicate with a range of stakeholders as well as being comfortable working both on desk-tasks and also out and about on our Dstl sites, liaising with customers.

Important Information:
Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. For this reason, only UK Nationals will be able to apply for this role. This role will require full UK security clearance, and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
Individuals within DSTL who hold dual nationality and currently hold the required clearance level may apply. If found suitable for the role further security discussions will need to take place before a formal offer can be made.
Attendance:
At Dstl, our vision is to have a modern way of working efficiently, accommodating and enabling our people to create, collaborate and deliver.
To do this successfully in this job will require attendance at a Dstl location; Government Departments including wider MoD or Delivery and Mission Partner’s premises for 60% of your working time.
Where business needs allow, and with the agreement of your line manager, there may be the option for a combination of workplace and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement.
Qualifications
You will also need to hold five Grade 9 - 5 (A* - C) GCSE’s or equivalent, including English and MathsBehaviours
