Healthy Communities Officer
Join us as a Healthy Communities Officer and play a vital role in promoting prevention, healthy living, and reducing health inequalities across Lancaster. You’ll support and coordinate projects that empower residents to live healthier lives, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to lasting system change in our community.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead and deliver health improvement initiatives such as Make Every Contact Count and the Smoking Cessation Project. Using local data and community insights, you’ll coordinate workstreams, organise meetings, and report progress to partners and decision-makers. You’ll build strong relationships with residents, voluntary groups, NHS colleagues, and council teams, facilitating community conversations and workshops to ensure our projects meet local needs.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have experience coordinating projects and working with diverse communities and partners. You’re organised, a clear communicator, and able to influence others positively. Your approach is warm, inclusive, and empathetic, reflecting our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership. A driving licence or access to transport is essential to support community-based delivery.
