Job description
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with strong presentation skills. They will be able to build constructive relationships with a range of stakeholders and support the delivery of key team objectives.
They will demonstrate an understanding of different stakeholder perspectives, explain the implications of decisions, and provide insight to support informed decision-making.
The role requires individuals who are highly engaged, customer-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality services. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the role may involve working across multiple areas or disciplines. Personal resilience and a commitment to continuous improvement will be important for success.
Role requirements and key responsibilities include:
Work independently to report on performance and financial information, responding constructively to queries and challenges, identifying resolutions, and building strong working relationships across teams.
- Conduct compliance checks, process and validate data submissions, and report performance against agreed standards, timelines, and methodologies.
- Manage processes and procedures related to the handling, quality assurance and approval of data required for business operations.
- Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Produce clear, concise dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to understand data requirements and deliver suitable data products.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organisational standards.
- Maintain documentation outlining methods, processes, and guidance for the production and ongoing maintenance of outputs.
- Communicate in a clear, positive, and engaging manner, explaining complex issues in a way that is easy for others to understand.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to data processes and reporting frameworks.

Essential criteria:
Applicants must be able to demonstrate and meet the following key criteria.- Strong numerical skills and experience in data analysis, manipulation, and processing
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with complex datasets and advanced Excel
- Ability to present data and information clearly, using appropriate styles for different audiences
- Effective organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and deliver outcomes
- Experience working with stakeholders, adopting a constructive approach to challenges and identifying suitable solutions
Desirable criteria:
Applicants should consider how they can demonstrate the following desirable criteria which will be an advantage in the role.
- Experience in data visualisation and dashboard design, particularly using Microsoft Power BI.

The selection process for this role will include completing a short CV and completing;
Stage 1: Online Test
After submission of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Numerical Test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application.
Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 31/05/2026. If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.
If you successfully pass the test you will then be invited to take the Civil Service Styles Assessment (CSSA). At this stage, you will be assessed against the Behaviours element of the Success Profile Framework:
