Make a Difference in Lancaster

Join us as a Housing Options Admin Assistant and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable homeless people and rough sleepers to remain in their current accommodation and prevent homelessness. Your work will help the Housing Options team operate smoothly, preventing homelessness and promoting community safety. By ensuring efficient service delivery, you’ll contribute to creating a safer, more supportive Lancaster where everyone can thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide essential administrative support, managing enquiries from the public and booking appointments for the team. Handling emails, phone calls, and correspondence promptly, you’ll signpost service users to the right support and assist with referrals. Your role includes managing diaries, producing reports, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate data. You’ll also perform general office duties to keep the service running seamlessly.

You’ll Fit Right In If…

You have good knowledge of Housing Options processes and strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and council financial systems. You’re empathetic, discreet, and communicate effectively with vulnerable people and partners. You work independently, manage your time well, and pay close attention to detail. The post holder will be required to work from Lancaster Town Hall. Monday – Friday 9.00-5.00pm. We offer a generous flexi-time scheme to support work life balance.
