Now is an exciting time to be joining the HR team at Winchester City Council. We are looking for an experienced part-time HR Advisor to join our small and friendly team on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025.

About the job:

22.5 hours per week, working pattern to include Monday or Friday to provide appropriate cover. All council employees are expected to work at least 50% of their time in the office.

You will be working as part of the HR team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive Human Resources service to the employees of the council.

Working in HR is varied. You will provide HR advice to managers and staff on employment law, good HR practice, current terms and conditions, and council policies. You will manage a caseload of a wide range of employee relations issues, with support from colleagues as required. You will support colleagues in providing an efficient recruitment service, including advising managers on all aspects of the process.

About you:

· You will be educated to A level or NVQ level 4 and be CIPD level 5 qualified.

· You will have at least 2 years experience of working in an HR environment

· You will be organised, methodical and customer-orientated.

· You will have the highest level of confidentiality/discretion.
