Job description

We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team and play a key role in strengthening the resilience of our colleagues particularly in the areas of HR policy, development and growth. This role involves partnering with Directors to help shape the leadership of colleagues, ensuring the efficient use of technical resources through data-driven analysis, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • MMO require an HRBP with experience of transformation and a proven track record of leading people focused transformation in complex organisations. Combining Organisational Design, project management and stakeholder engagement with the ability to align people and culture to MMO goals and values.
  • The HR Transformation lead is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of people transformation programmes in MMO. Working on behalf of the head of people and culture the role holder will ensure all people aspects are captured, clearly defined, and resourced, ensuring effective and successful delivery of change projects across MMO ensuring performance and cultural harmonisation.
  • Acting as the central coordination point across HR and change delivery to ensure transformation programmes are consistent with strong stakeholder engagement and alignment to people activities and strategic people direction.
  • The role holder will work as a central coordination point for the HR team ensuring alignment and readiness to deliver change. Working collaboratively with government bodies, project leads and the HR team to ensure that people, culture, and change considerations are fully embedded within the programme design and delivery.
  • The lead will be collaborative and solutions focused, bringing credibility, sound judgement and resilience. Comfortable working with stakeholders and ensuring people change and transformation is delivered to time scales with clarity, integrity and impact.
  • This role will support the MMO transformation agenda contributing to the creation of a modernised, inclusive and high performing culture across the organisation.
  • Accountable for driving forward significant and complex HR transformational agenda for both Synergy and OD. Being a visible leader confidently providing assurances to multiple stakeholders internally and externally while acting with integrity, with expert knowledge and enthusiasm.

Experience for the role

  • Proven experience of delivering strong HR expertise, including driving change
  • Experience in change management practices and leading on the people elements of organisational transformation.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law
  • Strong, clear, demonstrable experience of working on the implementation of transformation/change projects with HR impact.
  • Proven experience of working with a range of senior managers to resolve complex and contentious people issues
  • Effective communication skills across a diverse audience
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills
  • Ability to manipulate and interpret complex data to support HR/transformation decision
  • Demonstratable ability to build robust and productive working relationships and demonstrate a high level of personal credibility at all levels
  • Ability to operate across a variety of areas of the organisation and within wider government bodies as required.
  • Experience of delivering change within a public-sector, regulatory, or similarly governed environment.
  • Desirable expertise in workforce structure design, including job design, job evaluation, grading, selection, and workforce transition processes.

Key knowledge for the role

  • Significant experience as an HR professional, with a proven track record of leading complex organisational change, restructuring and transformation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, equality legislation, and employee relations, including statutory consultation and engagement with recognised trade unions.
  • Proven ability to provide authoritative advice and constructive challenge to senior leaders, balancing delivery objectives with governance, affordability, and legal compliance.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in complex change environments, influence and secure buy-in from diverse stakeholders, manage challenge and conflict constructively, and maintain resilience and credibility under sustained pressure.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and pace, designing pragmatic, people-centred solutions that are robust and fair.
  • High levels of personal integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage sensitive issues and maintain trust and confidence.
