What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating across teams to maintain and enhance network services for critical and interdependent systems.
  • Supporting departments and third-party partners to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable business solutions.
  • Proactively and reactively maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Analysing incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintaining comprehensive network documentation and ensuring compliance with cyber security policies.
  • Assisting in the delivery of network-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Promoting the Council’s values and strategic vision in all stakeholder interactions.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with a strong foundation in networking principles and a proactive mindset. You’ll bring:

  • A-levels or NVQ Level 3 (especially in English and Maths), with further training in network/security (e.g., CompTIA A+, Fortinet NSE 4).
  • Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, SAN topologies, routing protocols, VPNs, VOIP, and network devices.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining switches, DNS/DHCP, wireless networks, and identity systems.
  • Analytical thinking, fault diagnosis skills, and the ability to present technical findings clearly.
  • A collaborative spirit and a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and sustainability.
