The Role:
- The role of ICT Support Professional involves providing technical support and guidance, fulfilling tasks and service requests, and performing technical administration for IT users through various contact channels
- The ICT Support Professional position serves as a point of escalation for Technical Analysts, offering support, direction, and training. Additionally, it involves coordinating resources and activities, and providing management support. The individual is indirectly responsible for a team of Technical/Support Analysts and reports directly to the ICT Service Centre Manager
- Key responsibilities in the role of ICT Support Professional include resource allocation and coordination, work planning, and overseeing the daily operations of the ICT Service Centre
- The ICT Support Professional role requires representing the ICT Service Centre in service-related meetings, monitoring workloads, and identifying fault trends. It also involves technical administration, logging, categorizing, prioritizing, investigating, resolving, escalating, or transferring faults and service requests within agreed SLA/OLA timeframes
- The ICT Support Professional will fulfill project tasks and operational requests, provide on-site support across all LCC sites as needed, and offer management support and cover, including deputizing for the ICT Service Centre Manager. They will also act as a trainer/mentor and point of escalation for technical analysts, identify knowledge gaps, and assist with training
- Additional responsibilities in the ICT Support Professional role include maintaining Service Take On documentation, conducting operational acceptance testing, supporting regular quality assurance reviews, and assisting with the ICT disposals process
- The ICT Support Professional role involves providing guidance, direction, and training, coordinating resources, and escalating potential or actual service failures or major incidents. The individual will attend meetings concerning the ICT Service Centre and be accountable for managing the council’s resources efficiently, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and promoting social value through all activities. The job demands a diverse skill set, including VDU work and physical handling of desktop IT hardware
