An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to be the council’s Information Governance Lead, reporting directly to the Data Protection Officer. We offer the opportunity to work flexibly within a small, busy, and supportive team, who are at the heart of ensuring the Council’s data remains compliant and safe.
About You……
To be successful you will have:
- Knowledge/experience of governance, risk, or information management
- Excellent I.T. skills to understand how data is processed, stored, and shared
- Able to use IT packages to improve performance
- You are inquisitive, meticulous and able to demonstrate an ability to work proactively, without supervision and under their own initiative
About the role:
As the Information Governance Lead you will:
- Work collaboratively to support the Council's compliance with key legislation such as the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act
- Act as the expert in Information Governance leading on the development and management of the Information Governance agenda for the Council
- Act as the lead for information requests under Data Protection Legislation (SARs) and the Freedom of Information Act/Environmental Information Regulations
- Maintain a comprehensive suite of Information Governance policies and procedures

The Information Governance Lead interviews will be in the week commencing 01 December 2025. This date could be subject to change; in which case we will give you appropriate notice.

Salary range
- £37,280 - £39,152 per year
