Insurance Finance Analyst
Your typical day could start by reviewing claims costs, analysing under‑excess spend, or preparing journals and reconciliations to ensure our insurance‑related financial data is accurate and meaningful. Later, you might be supporting month‑end or year‑end processes, preparing notes to the accounts, resolving audit queries, or working with stakeholders to validate cost submissions and strengthen our financial controls.
What you’ll do
You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial reporting and insight for our Insurance Team, ensuring our monthly and annual results are robust, reliable, and support effective decision‑making. Working closely with the Head of Insurance, Insurance Finance Manager, Property Services, Housing, and colleagues across Finance, you’ll analyse claims‑related spend, maintain balance sheet controls, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
You’ll take ownership of reviewing incoming cost data, checking estimates and invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring recharges are correctly processed. You’ll support continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, recommending enhancements, and helping strengthen data integrity across insurance‑related financial systems.
You’re proactive, diligent, and detail‑focused. You enjoy solving problems, working with large datasets, and providing clarity for non‑finance stakeholders. You’re confident challenging assumptions, comfortable working under pressure, and committed to delivering accurate, transparent, and high‑quality financial information. If you value collaboration, good practice, and making a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll need
• Excellent analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets
• Experience preparing financial and management accounts

• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Experience reviewing cost data, journals, invoices, or similar financial inputs
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance audiences
• Knowledge of accounting software (Sun Systems desirable)
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Ideally a qualified or part‑qualified accountant, with a commitment to ongoing development
• Experience or knowledge of insurance (desirable)
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
• A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach
