
Internal Audit Practitioner - Apprenticeship Level 4
We are recruiting for an Internal Audit Practitioner to join our Internal Audit Team within Finance, Procurement and Audit service within the Resources Directorate.
If you are passionate about actively supporting the work of the Internal Audit team in planning and delivering risk-based internal audit assurance and consulting activities and participating in all aspects of internal audit activity including research, planning, interviews, testing and report writing, then this role is ideal for you. You will carry out internal audit work in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards as applicable to Internal Audit in UK Local Government. Whilst working with Internal Audit you are expected to achieve the Internal Audit Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship by attending workshops, completing on-line and other learning activities, attending webinars, receiving coaching and job shadowing etc in accordance with the identified training needs and professional and technical competency requirements. In this role, you will:

Working under the direction of the Internal Audit and Fraud Prevention Manager and lead auditors, support the planning and delivery of the annual risk-based internal audit and fraud prevention strategies and plans.

Support the Manager and Lead Auditors in planning and delivery of the risk-based internal audit assurance and consulting activities and in carrying out Follow Up audits

Prepare draft engagement plans and testing programmes on behalf of the lead auditors and conduct required audit testing. Prepare timely, concise reports for the lead auditor summarising the outcome of the internal audit assignments.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Five A* - C or 9 - 4 grade GCSEs, including Maths and English as well as at least two Level 3 qualifications in relevant subjects (includes AS - levels, a BTEC National or a level 3 NVQ qualification

Strong analytical and research skills, able to provide clear conclusions and options.

Some knowledge of internal audit practice and the Global Internal Audit Standards as applicable to local government

Strong communications and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
