As the Invoicing and Credit Control Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring income is collected efficiently and fairly, supporting our services while building positive, long‑term relationships with customers and partners.
This is a role for someone who combines confidence, accuracy and empathy someone who can have effective conversations, solve problems, and take pride in doing things right.
About the role…
This role focuses on the recovery of unpaid debt and the accurate billing of services provided by Peabody. You’ll manage your own portfolio of accounts, proactively engage with customers to resolve queries, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure invoices are raised correctly and paid on time. You’ll be at the heart of income collection, helping reduce debt, improve cash flow, and support excellent customer outcomes.
Please note, this is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
What you’ll do
- Produce and issue accurate invoices for services provided, ensuring billing is timely and correct.
- Take ownership of customer queries, resolving issues promptly and in line with Peabody service standards.
- Proactively manage credit control activities through phone calls, emails and in‑person meetings.
- Minimise bad debt by managing overdue accounts firmly, fairly and professionally.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Provide insightful reports to help drive down debt and improve payment performance.
About you
- Previous experience in a commercial credit control or billing environment.
- Good numeracy skills and confidence using accounting systems and spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence and engage at all levels.
- Resilience and focus, maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- A high level of attention to detail when managing accounts, reconciliations and disputes.
- Experience and confident in using a variety of systems
- A proactive, accountable mindset, taking ownership and acting with integrity.
- The confidence to negotiate overdue payments while remaining professional, calm and diplomatic
- Enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a positive, solution‑focused approach.

Salary range
