A key strategic leadership role at the heart of school improvement

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Director to lead and develop our school’s digital infrastructure, systems and strategy. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to shape and drive the future of IT and digital learning across the school.

About the Role

As IT Director, you will oversee the smooth running of the school’s IT network, systems and digital learning provision. You will provide strategic direction, leadership and expert advice on all matters relating to IT services, working closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team.

This is an opportunity for a proactive and innovative professional to ensure that technology is fully embedded as a driver for teaching, learning and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of the school’s IT infrastructure and digital learning provision
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation, security and reliability of all IT systems and networks
  • Provide expert advice to the Headteacher, School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team on IT strategy and investment
  • Ensure systems support high-quality teaching, learning and school operations
  • Work collaboratively across the school to drive innovation and continuous improvement in digital practice
  • Manage and develop IT services to meet current and future organisational needs

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have significant experience in IT leadership, ideally within an education or public sector setting
  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically while maintaining strong operational oversight
  • Be confident advising senior leaders and influencing decision-making
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Be committed to delivering a high-quality, reliable and forward-looking IT service
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

Salary range
