What’s the role?
As our Lead Business Continuity and Resilience Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering and embedding the Council’s business continuity arrangements, strengthening organisational resilience, and providing expert advice to decision makers during incidents.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Council and multi-agency partners to help ensure our residents receive the help and support they need, and that the Council can continue to deliver its essential services when the unexpected happens.

What we’re looking for
You’ll be a resilience professional, with a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice guidance relating to business continuity and integrated emergency management.
You will be a dynamic, forward-thinking and innovative individual, with the confidence to work across a large, complex organisation. You’ll be organised, solutions‑focused and comfortable leading work that cuts across services. You’ll communicate clearly, build trusted relationships, and know how to turn plans into action — whether that’s improving preparedness or supporting decision‑makers during an incident
Location
The job is primarily based at Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office, and from home on a regular basis. You may also be required to work at other buildings/ locations from time to time.
Special conditions
- A business continuity, emergency planning or resilience qualification, or equivalent experience is required
- The role is not required to participate in an out of hours rota, however occasional out of hours and weekend working may be required

Salary
£49,155 - £51,228 per annum (PO3)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
