Leasehold Document Specialist
Step into a unique opportunity to shape the future of how we manage and understand our buildings. As a Leasehold Document Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in a major project focused on reviewing and interpreting key legal documents—headleases, underleases, residential leases, title documents and more—to uncover who is responsible for maintaining and servicing different elements of our homes.
Working at the heart of our Homeowner Services team, you’ll collaborate closely with project stakeholders and external partners to create accurate responsibility matrices that directly improve data quality, decision‑making, and the service we deliver to residents. This is your chance to apply your legal/property expertise in a meaningful and impact‑driven way.
What You’ll Do
You’ll review legal and non‑legal data sources to determine responsibility for building components and services, validating your findings using additional documents and asset data. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll complete responsibility matrices, resolve discrepancies, source and tag lease documents, and ensure all information is accurately stored and recorded to support improved management and monitoring.
What You’ll Need
Essential
We’re looking for someone with the confidence and expertise to interpret complex property documents and communicate findings clearly. To succeed, you’ll need:
- Extensive, hands‑on experience reading, analysing, and interpreting leases—including headleases, underleases and residential leases
- A proven track record of cross‑referencing leases with other legal documents (e.g., transfers, titles, S106s) to identify, clarify, or challenge responsibilities
- Experience making well‑evidenced recommendations based on your interpretation of complex legal language and document discrepancies
- Relevant qualifications or experience
- Strong ability to interrogate Land Registry documents and accurately extract key information
- Confidence using large language models (e.g., Copilot) to obtain metadata and support accurate document classification
This is a hybrid role working a minimum of 2 days a week at the Westminster Bridge Road office.
