The Role

The post requires an experienced professional with a background in regulation and compliance, with knowledge of a range of Local Authority Licensing functions, including Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act, Taxi and Private Hire Licensing, Pavement Licensing, Scrap Metal and other Miscellaneous Licences and Registrations.

The post-holder will work under the direction of the Senior Licensing Officer, with responsibility for delivery of a personal case load, including responding to service requests and enquiries, inspection of licensed premises, regulation of the local licensed trade and complaint investigation. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team, organise and manage own workload and complete priorities effectively.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. However due to the nature of the role, evening and weekend work will be required in line with business needs.

This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall, with the option of hybrid working available dependant on the needs of the service. We would be happy to accept applications for part time hours.

A full current driving licence is essential, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees’ driving licence data.
