Job summary

Do you have experience of leading and motivating others with the ability to manage change? If so, HM Land Registry (HMLR) are now looking for Line Managers to join our Data Transformation Team within the Local Land Charges Programme (LLC).

As part of the Local Land Charges Programme Team, you will provide leadership, direction and support to a team of Administration Officers (AOs). You will deliver a key production role within a £200 million Programme recognised under the Government Major Projects portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the Local Land Charges Programme. HM Land Registry launched the new Local Land Charges (LLC) Register in the summer of 2018. We need your expertise, enthusiasm and drive to further roll out this new service.

Job description

In this varied and fast-paced role, you will react quickly to changes in priorities, supporting the team to adapt to change through good leadership and communication. Your role may include Line Management of both HMLR employed and agency employed team members. Your team’s duties may involve data entry, spatial capture, scanning, or quality control, subject to business requirements. You will be responsible for production, quality and time management for your team, acting as a first point of referral for any technical queries or logistical problems.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to work at least 30 hours per week and you may be required to increase the amount of time you spend working in the office beyond our usual expectation of at least 60% of your normal working week, if you are asked to supervise agency staff. There may also be an occasional requirement to travel to other HMLR locations, which may involve an overnight stay.

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will have experience in map interpretation and using a variety of spatial data sources and a good level of IT literacy and PC skills including use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

You will have experience:

  • Experience of driving a team to deliver against challenging and changeable deadlines
  • Experience of giving feedback and coaching to individuals and teams
  • Excellent leadership, motivational skills, and experience of managing change
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • Able to interpret and explain complex instructions, knowing when to refer and escalate

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable. This will not be tested in the application or interview process.

Sift

Interview

If successful at shortlisting stage, you will be invited to attend a virtual, blended interview. The blended interview will test the Behaviours listed in the ‘Person Specification’ as well as the strengths associated with the role, details will be provided on invitation to interview.
