Are you passionate about green finance, sustainability, and making a measurable impact on the UK’s journey to net zero?

The Local Net Zero Accelerator (LNZA) team at the Greater South East Net Zero Hub (GSENZH) is looking for a motivated and capable Project Officer – Green Finance to support the delivery of innovative place-based net zero investment projects.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainable investment, public sector innovation, and environmental policy.

🌍 About the Role

As LNZA Project Officer – Green Finance, you’ll:

  • Support the independent evaluation of financial assessments and risk analysis
  • Help shape green finance investment strategies and due diligence processes
  • Work closely with local authorities, financial institutions, and delivery partners
  • Contribute to the design of investment prospectuses and financial models
  • Assist in managing the Green Finance Support Service and ensure quality outputs
  • Capture real-time insights to inform future programme delivery

You will report to the LNZA Programme Lead and work closely with the SWNZH Investment Manager.

What we're looking for

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Environmental Economics, Sustainable Business, or related
  • 1+ years’ experience in finance, sustainability, or related sectors
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Experience producing high-quality reports and presentations

Desirable:

  • CFA qualification or working towards it
  • Familiarity with public sector financing and UK net zero policy
  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM PMQ)
