About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership role within our Early Help & Prevention Service, focused on strengthening our locality-based approach to supporting children, young people and families. As Localities Service Manager (Youth), you will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality, impactful youth offer, ensuring services are responsive to local need and contribute to improved life chances and aspirations.

You will play a key role in embedding integrated locality working, bringing together youth provision, family hubs, early help and wider partners to deliver a coordinated, preventative system of support. The role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight, including managing a range of services, driving innovation and funding opportunities and operating confidently within a political and partnership landscape.

About the Team

The Youth team is part of our wider Early Help & Prevention Service, delivering a dynamic, community-based offer across Haringey. The team brings together targeted and universal youth services, youth participation, outreach provision and multi-agency locality working aligned with family hubs and early help.

Working closely with partners across the statutory, voluntary and community sectors, the team is committed to early intervention, prevention, and co-production, ensuring young people and families receive the right support at the right time while helping to reduce escalation into statutory services.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader who is committed to improving outcomes for young people and families. You will bring a background in working with young people, alongside proven experience of leading complex services, driving innovation and working collaboratively across systems. You will be comfortable operating at a strategic level while maintaining a focus on delivery, impact and continuous improvement.

Key skills and experience:
• Strong professional background in youth work and/or youth service delivery
• Proven experience managing diverse teams and multiple service areas
• Demonstrable success in partnership working across statutory, voluntary and community sectors
• Experience of service transformation, innovation and developing new models of delivery
• Ability to develop creative approaches to funding and commissioning
• Strong data analysis and performance management skills, using insight to inform service planning
• Experience producing high-quality reports and briefings for senior leaders and elected members
• Ability to work effectively within a political and strategic environment
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
• A strong commitment to early intervention, prevention and improving life chances
