Job description

The Management Accountant role in the GPA is integral to ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, producing management information, forecasts and supporting the business and GPA clients to make informed decisions.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects and related overheads, the post holder will need to build key relationships across the business, ensuring accurate management accounting and providing analysis and analysis interpretation to key stakeholders.

The post holder will contribute to GPA developing a culture of strong financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating forecasting and reporting
  • Producing management accounts for relevant budget holders
  • Producing financial reports for corporate stakeholders and GPA clients
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and prepayments
  • Investigate variances and ensure transactions are accounted for correctly, as well as identifying trends, risks and opportunities in the financial data
  • Supporting the payroll and staff costs, ad-hoc recharging and purchase to pay processes
  • Preparing and processing journals
  • The post holder may be required to undertake additional responsibilities as expected in relation to the role and grade

Person specification

Experience & Technical Skills

  1. Good experience of management accounting
  2. Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret significant amounts of financial data
  3. Ability to seek out new information and self-develop
  4. Highly IT literate and experienced at using multiple software tools, including Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  5. Excellent communicator, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  6. Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in an Estates/Property environment (Desirable)

Qualifications and Accreditations

  • AAT Qualified, or working towards CCAB qualification

Interview

Interviews will be conducted online via Google Meet during the week commencing July 27th, 2026.

At interview, applicants will be scored against 3 behaviours -Working together , Changing and improving and Delivering at Pace.

Interview questions will be a blend of Behaviour, Experience, Strength and Technical (core skill) questions.



Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

Security
