
Network and Contract Compliance Officer
Grade 7 - £42324-£46,512pa
The Highways Team are looking for a Network and Contract Compliance Officer to join the team. This is an exiting opportunity in a new role.
The role has two main duties:
1. To ensure Contractor compliance through inspection, monitoring, audits and overseeing works activities on the borough's highway network.
2. To ensure developer compliance through inspection, monitoring, audits and overseeing works activities on the borough's highway network.
In addition to the above the role consists of the following duties and responsibilities:
• Monitor construction work of contractors working in or on the boroughs highway to ensure it meets the specified standards and requirements (either the councils contract specifications or NRSWA / LoPS).
• Inspect materials, quality and workmanship to ensure they meet specified requirements.
• Identify and report any defects or deviations from specifications and take corrective action ensuring compliance.
• Undertake regular site inspections of all those working in or on the boroughs highway. Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and construction activities. Instruct testing as deemed required or as per specification requirements.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports to colleagues and management.
• Ensure that health and safety regulations and requirements are followed on-site.
• Ensure correct traffic management and working arrangements are in place on site including adherence to welfare requirements and approved traffic management plans, Chapter 8 and “the Red Book”.
• Report any non-compliance and issue fixed penalty notices as required.
• To inspect licenced works (or unlicenced work that require a licence) and take corrective or enforcement action as required.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, works promoters, designers and others.
