Make a difference while others sleep.

Our Children's Homes in Stockton-on-Tees are continuing to grow and develop, creating safe, stable and nurturing homes where children and young people can thrive.

We are looking for a caring, resilient and committed Residential Night Care Worker to join our dedicated team and help provide the support, reassurance and consistency our young people need through the night.

About the team
Our residential teams are passionate about providing children and young people with a place where they feel safe, valued and cared for. We work together to create family-style homes that promote positive outcomes, independence and aspirations.

We're proud of what our young people, inspectors and professionals say about our homes:

"The service and the care home manager have been so supportive and have helped me build my confidence and turn my life around."

" Children love living here and do not want to leave!"

" It is clear how much the children are cared for, and the staff are extremely proud of the children’s achievements.”

As part of our team, you'll receive excellent support, regular supervision, ongoing training and development opportunities, and the chance to build a rewarding career in residential childcare.

About the role
Working across our children's homes, you'll help maintain routines, respond to individual needs and provide reassurance when it's needed most.

You will:
  • Provide high-quality overnight care and support, including bedtime and morning routines.
  • Help children and young people feel safe, secure and cared for during the night.
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures to respond appropriately to incidents and risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and effectively hand over important information to colleagues and professionals.
  • Work in partnership with families, colleagues and external agencies to ensure children's needs are met.
  • Support children and young people across different homes and community settings when required.

About you
We're looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference and who can build positive relationships with children and young people who may have experienced trauma, loss or instability.

You will:
  • Be kind, compassionate, patient and child focused.
  • Have experience working with children, young people or families, ideally within a care, support or residential setting.
  • Be able to remain calm, resilient and professional in challenging situations.
  • Have, or be willing to achieve within 18 months of appointment, the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Be flexible and able to work a 7-day shift rota, covering nights and weekends.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance.
