About the Role

This position is offered as a 12-month cover, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to our team and support key organisational development initiatives over the coming year.

We’re seeking a proactive and people-focused Organisational Development and Learning Practitioner for a 12-month cover role, supporting the delivery of our ambitious People Strategy. As a vital member of our established team, you’ll contribute to organisational development, learning, employee engagement, and culture.

You will:

  • Support the design, development, and delivery of the Combined Authority’s People Strategy, enabling cultural change and supporting our ambition to be ahigh-performing organisation.

  • Adopt a business partner approach to identify, design and deliver key organisational development and learning activity related to service area objectives and align OD activities with wider business priorities.

  • Influence and support senior leaders and managers across the Combined Authority through excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

  • Apply creativity and innovation to deliver impactful OD programmes and initiatives, from initial approach to evaluation of outcomes.

  • Collaborate with professionals across the organisation to provide evidence-based advice, deliver interventions, and shape organisational culture through clear outcomes.

About the person

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about organisational development and learning, with a proactive approach and strong people skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, creativity, and a commitment to driving positive change.

You will be able to work collaboratively within a team, provide evidence-based advice, and deliver impactful interventions. Relevant qualifications and experience in organisational development are essential, and a willingness to further develop professionally is highly valued.
