We are the City of Administrative Excellence

We are the City of Operational Brilliance

We are the City of Exceptional Support

At the City of London Corporation, we like to go beyond what’s expected of us. And the Barbican Estate office is no different. That’s why we need a Personal Assistant for the Director of Property & Estate Management who can embody our values and provide a high-level, professional secretarial service.

From managing diaries, arranging travel, and coordinating conferences to drafting meeting agendas, taking minutes, and general typing, you will be responsible for a range of administrative services. You’ll also have to undertake project work on behalf of the Director of Property & Estate Management, managing confidential filing systems and organising events at the Barbican Estate, overseeing everything from catering to equipment. Some budgetary responsibilities may also be delegated to you on a project basis.

You will thrive in this role if you have prior experience working in a senior administrative position, like project or event management. With strong communication skills – both written and oral – you will be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, including housing or property management. You will also need to be familiar with developing policies and procedures and undertaking research work when necessary.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. We offer a wide range of discounts on travel, wellbeing, and retail, plus access to standout learning and development opportunities. It’s all part of our commitment to helping you thrive – at work and beyond.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain a standard Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.

Closing date: 23:59pm on 10 July 2026.

Interviewswill be held w/c 20 July 2026.

How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.

For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.

We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
