The Litigation and Advisory Team has an integral role in delivering the Commission’s strategic plan through our litigation and advisory work. We are hiring a paralegal (L3) to contribute to the effective delivery of this work and who upholds our values of fairness, dignity and respect. This role will be based in the litigation and advisory team but may also carry out work as required across the legal directorate, including supporting the enforcement team.

This fixed term position offers a rewarding insight into the Commission’s litigation and advisory role. Working closely with Principals, the successful candidate will make a clear and substantial contribution to the work of the Commission and the environment that we regulate. You will need to be motivated, organised and enjoy working on a range of tasks and projects both individually and as part of a wider team. As a Litigation and Advisory Team member, you will have the opportunity to learn new professional skills, take on areas of responsibility and innovate our ways of working.

Job description

You will:

  • Liaise closely with other members of the team to deliver strategic litigation and advisory work
  • Where appropriate contribute to the conduct of litigation matters on behalf of the Commission
  • Working autonomously and as part of a team, as required to deliver our litigation and advisory work
  • Provide support to and carry out administrative tasks for the Litigation and Advisory Team, and as required in any given project, working flexibly across the legal directorate so may support enforcement work as needed
  • Develop engagement and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Draft correspondence, and contribute to the drafting of internal and external reports, findings and briefings
  • Gather, analyse and present evidence on which we can formulate robust conclusions and recommendations
  • Process and record financial transactions accurately and efficiently
