An exciting opportunity to join Birmingham Children’s Trust’s Trust Intelligence and Insight Centre (TIIC) on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (potential to be extended). As PBI Developer and Insight Manager, you will turn complex data into actionable insights, deliver impactful Power BI solutions, and help drive our digital and data strategy, shaping better outcomes for children and families every day. Bring your professional curiosity, ability to simplify complex concepts, and confidence in challenging conversations to make a real difference.

As PBI Developer and Insight Manager in TIIC, you will:

  • Manage a team of PBI Report Writers and Analysts, and Senior Information & Intelligence Analysts overseeing the design, optimisation, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports that are insightful, user-friendly, and accessible, supporting statutory, performance, and operational reporting.
  • Collaborate with service leaders, analysts, and ICT teams to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
  • Lead on data migration and analytical reporting from the data lake, ensuring data accuracy, quality assurance, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders, enabling self-service reporting and building a culture of data literacy across the Trust.
  • Promote diversity, equality, and continuous improvement through innovation and best practice in data management.

What you will bring:

  • Professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (including relevant experience) covering Digital, Information Management, and Business Intelligence skills.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Advanced Power BI and data modelling skills (including DAX, Power Query, SQL).
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data quality.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for making a positive difference for Birmingham’s children and families.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
