Performance and Improvement Assistant

Performance and Improvement Assistant

Flexible
£25,989 - £27,254 per year
Job Introduction

Public education and engagement sits at the heart of the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership (LWP). By working closely with residents across the county, we aim to deliver our objectives in a way that is timely, effective, and good value for money.

People are central to everything we do, and delivering excellent customer service is essential. As a Performance and Improvement Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting residents to better understand and manage their household waste and recycling.

With separate Food Waste Collections already underway in 4 of the 7 District areas, and the remaining 3 due to roll out by the end of the year, this is an exciting time to join the team and help shape how residents engage with these important new services.

About the role

Here’s how you’ll contribute to the success of the LWP:

  • Respond to customer enquiries on a daily basis, providing clear, accurate, and helpful information about waste and recycling services.
  • Educate and guide residents on household waste and recycling, helping to improve quality, reduce contamination, and encourage more sustainable behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with the seven District Councils, sharing knowledge, gathering feedback, and helping to improve how services are delivered across Lincolnshire.
  • Coordinate and develop work packages, including supporting the schools ‘Let’s Talk Rubbish’ programme and supporting engagement events for Performance and Improvement Officers.
  • Provide support to existing and upcoming re-use initiatives such as the Community Re-Paint project and the Tattershall Re-Use shop.

About you

You’ll bring experience in customer service, with a genuine commitment to going the extra mile. You’re confident handling enquiries, building relationships, and communicating with a wide range of people.

You’ll also be someone who:

  • Builds rapport quickly through empathy and active listening.
  • Maintains professionalism in all interactions.
  • Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

What you’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain information clearly and effectively.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, district councils, and partners.
  • Continuous improvement: A proactive mindset, using feedback and enquiry trends to identify opportunities to improve services.
  • Data entry and analysis: Confidence in collecting, entering and interpreting data to support performance monitoring and improvements.
  • Solution-focused thinking: A practical, positive approach to resolving enquiries and helping residents make informed choices.

About the team

We’re a connected and collaborative team, whether working in the office or out in the community. Regular team meetings and catch-ups mean you’ll always feel supported, and while we do enjoy socialising together, it’s entirely optional.
