Performance & Quality Officer - Yorkshire and the Humber Probation Service - Performance and Quality - Various Locations (Full Time) (Ref: 23118)
Job summary
Please refer to Job DescriptionJob description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Performance Team based in Probation Service Yorkshire and the Humber. It is a temporary post until 18/01/28 due to the substantive post holder undertaking another temporary role. There is a possibility, however, that this could become a permanent appointment*. The Performance & Quality Officer (PQO) is a regional role based across the Yorkshire and the Humber region and there is a requirement to travel across the region. The role involves working with Probation Delivery Units (PDUs) to support them in achieving agreed performance targets. This includes:
• Ensuring that PDUs deliver in accordance with agreed national service delivery indicators and specifications
• Developing and delivering a quality improvement programme for the Yorkshire and the Humber region
• Identifying local performance and quality issues and opportunities linking into His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) priorities
• Running improvement initiatives to address opportunities for performance improvement
• Working with other PQOs to share best practice and maximise improvements in quality and performance
• Experience of using Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Business Objects, Power BI
• Demonstrate the ability to extract and maintain information and analyse data
* This possibility applicable only to an external candidate appointed on a fixed-term basis. Under the current HMPPS guidance, fixed-term contracts apply to external appointees. If an existing civil servant is successful in a time-limited campaign, they would normally move under the appropriate temporary arrangement, such as a loan or detached duty, rather than becoming a fixed-term appointee. A temporary promotion, loan or detached duty cannot simply be converted into a permanent appointment as a result of that arrangement.
