Personal Assistant - The Elms
We currently have an opportunity for a full time (37.5 hours) Personal Assistant at our supported living scheme, The Elms, in Aylesbury.
The Elms is a supported living service, providing care and support to people aged 55 and over with a variety of physical health conditions, mental health conditions and learning difficulties. At The Elms, we provide compassionate, high quality care every day, helping people reach their goals and live their best lives.
What You will Do:
As Personal Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Aid with the daily administration of medication
- Supporting with personal care in a dignified and respectful way
- Encouraging life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting
- Organise trips to local amenities
- Promoting independence and helping residents achieve their personal goals
- Following tailored support plans and risk assessments to ensure safety and wellbeing
As a Personal Assistant you will;
- Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.
- Provide personal care but your role will also involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
- Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".
- Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs.
The role will involve working shifts on a 4-week rolling pattern (shift times are 8am to 4pm, 2pm to 10pm and 3pm to 3pm the following day which includes a sleep in)
