Rate: £19.00 per hour

Hours: 9 hours per week during term time and 4 hours per week during non-term time

Contract: Self-Employed, Permanent

A self-employed Personal Assistant is required to support an individual in the Wigston area to access the community and increase social involvement.

Role Requirements

You will be required to support them with:

  • getting out to their local area and further afield to go for walks
  • visiting places such as coffee shops and other local shops
  • accessing groups
  • getting out and about and low level exercise

They particularly enjoy crocheting and crafting.

This support will be for 4 hours per week throughout the year. Exact times can be discussed at interview.

You will also be required to assist with school runs during term times therefore an additional 5 hours per week will be allocated for this support. This would be split into 30 minutes in the morning and 30 mins in the afternoon to walk the child to and from school. You would need to be at the individual's home address in Wigston at 8.20am to support with walking the child to school for 8.40am and then be at the school for pick up at 3.20pm to walk the child home. There is a friendly dog at the property.

You must have a driving licence and access to a car.

The individual has been diagnosed with:

  • Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) which can cause non-epileptic seizures and blackouts - they recognise symptoms of the onset of a seizure, and those around them are able to recognise the symptoms of a blackout
  • Depression
  • Hypothyroidism
