
Pest Control Officer
As a Pest Control Technician you can make your own powerful contribution to our Pest Control Teams mission - to be the best Council operated Pest Control Service in London.
We want to provide an excellent service covering a growing portfolio of pests and are looking for ambitious individuals with a team mentality that want to continuously learn and develop in their chosen profession. By providing a supportive and nurturing environment we are looking to, so far as is practicable, support residents and bussinesses in the borough to control, and manage out, infesttions of rats, mice, bed bugs, cockroaches and other well recognised urban pests.
You’ll be delivering a customer focused, high quality service, carrying out surveys of sites and premises after a complaint or request for service has been received, or as part of a regular inspection programme, taking responsibility for advising complainants and other members of staff regarding suitable treatments and follow up preventative measures, delivering basic proofing works, coordinating and carrying out treatments appropriate to specific tasks, and using approved methods to ensure the most efficient destruction of pests, and undertake block treatment and baiting programmes. We’ll also expect you to keep proper records of the work you carry out, and monitor the use of pesticides and equipment via accurate completion of the stock control register.

About You:
With an RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management or its equivalent, you’ll have experience of operational pest control and the ability to use a wide variety of information systems and technology. Capable of planning, delivering and coordinating projects and your own workload, you’ll have a strong customer focus and be friendly, approachable and empathetic.
A confident communicator, you’ll be ready to work solo and unsupervised in accordance with agreed programmes, and possess the ability to write concise reports and keep both written and computerised records of case work. In addition, we’ll expect you to have a strong understanding of, and commitment, to safe lone working.

Salary range
- £38,571 - £40,344 per year
