Place Protection Officer
We are looking for someone to join our Place Protection team, working with a variety of council service areas, to help improve the feelings of safety within our community and to ensure compliance is monitored and maintained. This involves engagement with members of the public, partners, and other services, as part of a high profiled uniformed patrol.
The role will contribute towards tackling antisocial behaviour, investigate and resolve enviro-crimes (fly-tipping, graffiti, un-taxed or abandon vehicles etc), homelessness related issues and parking contraventions within council owned car parks. Early intervention and engagement are required in certain situations, in addition to the use of delegated powers. The officers will need to adhere to local policies and legal guidance, to gather, handle and prepare evidence for certain offences, by obtaining photographs, compiling witness statements, conducting interviews, including interviews under caution. Where appropriate to prepare for and/or attend court. Liaising with both internal colleagues and external partnerships such as the Police, housing associations, other government bodies etc, is also required.
The ideal Candidate
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service background. They must be friendly, enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player, to provide a high-quality service in a flexible manner. Being able to take responsibility of their own workload is essential in addition to good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills. Full training, (including CSAS Accreditation), uniform and equipment is provided.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
You will be required to work an average of 37 hours per week including weekends, on a rota basis, covering the hours of 7am – 9pm Monday – Sunday. Later shifts may be required to cover certain events.

Salary range
- £32,654 - £38,626 per year
