Make a Difference in Lancaster

Join us in playing a vital role within Lancaster’s Development Management Team, where your work ensures the smooth and timely processing of planning, building control, and tree applications. Your expertise will help maintain community safety, support sustainable development, and uphold the welfare of children and residents across the city.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will validate and register planning applications by applying complex national regulations. Your role includes providing technical advice, managing electronic document systems, and communicating clearly with customers and stakeholders. You’ll also support enforcement and appeals processes, administer Tree Protection Orders, and assist colleagues, all while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with data protection.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, and a good understanding of planning and building control legislation. You’re organised, adaptable, and communicate confidently both verbally and in writing.
