Job summary

We have a fantastic fixed term opportunity for a Portfolio Lead, sitting within the Project and Portfolio Management function of the Housing Ombudsman Service. You will be joining our team which enables the organisation to identify, plan, prioritise, align and coordinate the delivery of change activities across directorates’ portfolios and the emerging organisation-wide transformation programme.

Job description

The postholder will provide leadership and coordination for projects, programmes and portfolio initiatives, contributing to the effective delivery of change across the organisation.

You will support project and portfolio-level management by ensuring robust planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms are in place. Working in multidisciplinary teams and with senior stakeholders, you will contribute to the culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring that projects and change activities are aligned to strategic priorities and managed in accordance with agreed governance and assurance frameworks.

Person specification

The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Project Management professional with a track record of successful portfolio management. In addition, you will have:

· Experience in developing and monitoring project plans ensuring value for money and timely delivery

· Experience of interacting at a senior level and providing advice/guidance to senior stakeholders

· Experience of portfolio management, ensuring the delivery of multiple associated projects

· Proficiency in Microsoft office and project management packages

· An in depth understanding of the theory and application of Business Case methodologies

· The organisational and prioritisation skills required to deliver conflicting demands and plan work effectively to meet challenging deadlines

· Effective negotiation and influencing skills
