Salary: Starting from £40,649 per annum (London weighted salary) or £36,073 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Grade: 8

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester, Trafford

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Join our Corporate Communications Team at L&Q:

To help us achieve our aim, we’re looking for a PR and Campaigns Officer to play a key role in our Corporate Communications team, reporting into the PR and Campaigns Manager.

The PR and Campaigns Officer will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of multi-media campaigns, PR and media management, alongside monitoring, evaluating and reporting on this. You’ll help raise awareness of our priorities, manage our reputation and tell an engaging story about the value of housing associations in society.

The successful candidate will demonstrate passion for our social purpose, strong communications skills and the drive to grow and learn in a large, complex organisation. You should be comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels to help deliver our communications objectives.

Your impact in the role:

  • Support L&Q to maintain a positive reputation by producing timely, accurate and appropriate reactive responses to media enquiries
  • Produce, edit or proof copy as required to cover a wide range of communications channels and collateral, including news stories, web and social media content, as well as publications, reports and briefings.
  • Support the planning and delivery of PR and multi-media campaigns by coordinating the production of content, including writing briefings, scripts and messaging, and organising video and photography shoots as required
  • Provide communications business partnering services to internal teams as required, collaborating with colleagues to deliver effective and impactful corporate communications activity
  • Provide the Communications team with administrative support, including but not limited to the coordination of media monitoring, performance information gathering, and L&Q’s out-of-hours press rota
  • Liaise with external contacts as required to ensure the effective delivery of corporate communications activity
  • Ensure health and safety, regulatory & budget governance and compliance for areas under the job holder’s control
  • Manage risks associated with areas under the jobholder’s control. This includes personal responsibility for the accuracy and quality of any corporate material or communications collateral produced

What you'll bring:

  • Degree or Higher National Qualification in relevant subject or significant experience of producing corporate level communications collateral
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a comparable, fast-paced communications team environment
  • Proven track record of planning and delivering communications activity
  • Proven track record of successfully producing high quality copy and communications materials for internal and external audiences
  • Experience of managing media communications, and responding to press enquiries
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • IT literate - MS Office, database management or equivalent
