Location: Various Family Hubs throughout Medway as well as Broadside office

Working style: Hybrid – Works part from any Family Hub as well as Broadside and part from home.

Medway Family Solutions, provides early targeted intervention by working holistically with families with multiple and complex needs to enable them to make changes and improvements to their lives.

An exciting part-time opportunity (18.5 hours) has arisen for the position of Team Manager (Practice Development) within Family Solutions


Key focuses of the role will be:

Providing an effective service to children, young people and their families ensuring all interventions to Children & their Families are completed to a high standard and in accordance with our practice standards. Included in this will be the line management, supervision and oversight of practitioners practice with Children & their Families.

You will be jointly responsible for the delivery of relevant parenting programmes across Medway and contributing to driving forward the Council’s parenting strategy.

Leading on the practice development for staff in Family Solutions and other staff within the multi-disciplinary staff team, incorporating research/evidence-based approach to ensure high quality and consistent application of practice.

As a team manager in Family Solutions, you will also undertake quality assurance work to ensure the provision of high-quality support to children and their families.

You will have significant social work experience, be able to evidence good leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering good outcomes for children, young people and their families.

You will hold a degree in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You will also be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable children in a non statutory setting and ideally have experience of working with ‘Signs of Safety’ or a similar strengths and relationships based practice framework.


The successful post holder will be subject to a Enhanced Childrens’ DBS check.

Candidates will be offered a competitive basic salary between £52,921 and £57,554 per annum, dependant on your experience, and the potential to earn up to £67,554 per year when market premiums and retention are applied.

About You

  • You will hold a recognised Social Work qualification eg. Degree in Social Work, PGC in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
  • You will have successfully completed your ASYE.
  • You will have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes (including business use for carrying passengers).
